Chris Thompson
Director
Chris has over 17 years of industry experience focusing on property and urban development. Throughout his career he has worked alongside some of Australia’s foremost developers, Government Agencies and consultancy groups.
Chris is a proven leader with a strong commercial understanding in both property and business. Chris has a robust working knowledge of development approval processes, economic drivers and opportunities across a broad range of project types and asset classes.
More recently, Chris has been working alongside the NSW Government in the divestment of circa, $1bn of state-owned assets.
Chris founded TBA Urban in 2015 and continues to focus his expertise towards maximise project efficiencies, returns and objectives for his clients. His technical capabilities cover; property advisory, development and project management, divestment strategies, property acquisitions and transaction structuring, master planning and re-zonings. Chris has significant track record in delivering successful outcomes on high-value, complex property projects for both Public and Private entities.
Peter Mangels
Director
Peter joined TBA Urban in 2018 as a company director and manager of our Sunshine Coast office. With 12+ years’ experience in the development industry and as a strategic statutory planner, Peter provides invaluable expertise to our team and his clients.
Peter has a strong acumen for risk management and negotiation across residential and commercial market sectors. His recent work with NSW Government clients has required acute development management skills to leading consulting teams through site acquisition & asset disposals, value add strategies, development management & implementation of strategic planning advice.
Prior to joining TBA Urban Peter held senior roles within both private and public sector organisations, during which time he was responsible for the delivery of complex projects while managing large teams of consultants and internal staff.
Patrick Waite
Director
Patrick has 9 years’ experience in the development industry advising both the private and public sectors in matters relating to development, planning and precinct renewal. He has held roles with both Government Agencies and Councils which provide him with an inherent understanding of the mechanics for complex approval-driven projects and value add.
Patrick is an expert strategic town planner and readily utilises his planning expertise to leverage and enhance development projects for the benefit of his clients.
Patrick has a thorough appreciation of commercial project drivers and is very well versed in managing teams of subject matter experts both internally and as external integrated consultancy teams. Pat is a strong communicator and methodical in his approach to all aspects of development project management.
Michael Thompson
Principal Consultant for Maestro
Michael joined TBA Urban in 2021 as a principal consultant in our Maestro team. He brings with him over 17 years of hospitality industry and operational-management experience which spans a broad range of sectors in Australia and abroad. Combining this career expertise with a sharp business focus, Michael continues to drive growth for Maestro and success for all its clients. His unique skill means he is able to quickly establish a solutions-focused approach to each project and opportunity, regardless of the complexity.
Michael works closely with the TBA Urban team to ensure the ‘best fit’ for project, managing technical disciplines to ensure outcomes for venue identification, negotiations, planning and approvals, commercial assessments and/or design development.
Cameron Elsegood
Senior Development Manager
Cameron has over 17 years of property experience with a focus on residential, commercial and industrial projects especially within the Public Sector framework. With a robust understanding of acquisition, development and transaction processes he is well placed to lead clientele through each phase of the property lifecycle.
Cameron has directed a number of significant multi-phased projects and is an expert in leading high performing property teams to facilitate both the acquisition of property assets through to realisation of the highest and best uses for each asset. The notable success of his projects demonstrates his range of technical skills and delivery capability, with a knack for breaking down project barriers, Cameron continually strives to improve quality of operations and seek a better outcome for all stakeholders. Through his ongoing work with NSW Government, he is highly experienced in all aspects of stakeholder engagement and management and is highly effective in communicating with all levels of government.
Kevin Suen
Planner
Kevin is an up-and-coming planner who joined TBA Urban in 2022 following completion of his Bachelor of Planning at University of New South Wales. Kevin has a strong passion for making cities better places and brings this enthusiasm to all his work both professionally and personally.
Kevin’s involvement in a variety of planning projects, including residential, commercial and mixed-use development, has expanded his knowledge of strategic and statutory planning system and development processes.
